Colombia captain, Juana Ortegon, has said the South American side has shifted its attention to Nigeria following their victory over Poland.

Ortegon and her teammates secured a 1-0 win over the hosts in a tightly contested Round of 16 encounter on Thursday.

The match appeared destined for extra time until Poland conceded a late own goal.

Mariana Silva delivered a cross across the face of goal, with Martyna Bartczark inadvertently turning the ball into her own net.

Ortegon commended her teammates for showing determination and resilience after the match.

“We will play match by match. We are very happy to be in the quarter-finals, so we will think about Nigeria first, but this team will always compete to win.

“Our dream is to win the world title, but we’re going match by match,” Ortegon told FIFA.

Colombia will face Nigeria on Sunday for a place in the semi-finals.
