Galatasaray forward, Victor Osimhen, has shared his excitement after setting a new club record and helping his team secure the Turkish Cup title on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old scored twice as Galatasaray claimed a 3-0 victory over Trabzonspor in the final.
With his two goals, Osimhen’s season tally rose to 35, earning him a place in the club’s record books.
The Nigerian striker surpassed the previous record of 34 goals set by former Galatasaray player Mario Jardel.
After the match, Osimhen expressed gratitude to his team-mates for their continued support throughout the season.
He also gave special recognition to Yunus Akgun for his performance in the final.
“I think the record is of course a great thing, but I would like to thank my team-mates very much. Especially today, Yunus [Akgun] was very unifying,” Osimhen told Galatasaray’s website.
“Goals make me happy, of course, but I want to reciprocate the support my team-mates have given me since I came here with goals.
