Ayekooto Akindele, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a staunch ally of President Bola Tinubu, has suggested reasons why former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi would still harbour resentment towards his former boss, Muhammadu Buhari.
In a post on his official Facebook page, the well-known social media influencer said that Amaechi might be upset that Buhari did not support him in the 2022 APC presidential primary.
Ayekooto asserts that the immediate past president did not force Amaechi on the ruling party, despite Amaechi’s efforts to build infrastructure in Buhari’s hometown of Daura.
He wrote, “Two reasons he will never forgive Buhari; despite procuring a chieftaincy title in Daura and allocating a Transportation University there, Buhari didn’t impose him on the APC. Chai, this is unforgivable”
Ayekooto also stated that after “resigning to run a stadium marathon for APC ticket and lost shamelessly, despite begging Buhari to allow him return as minister, Buhari was just saying MININI as he didn’t understand what he was saying”.
His comments came after Amaechi had ranked former President Olusegun Obasanjo higher than other past Nigerian presidents.
According to ZINGTIE, Amaechi recently referred to Obasanjo as the last Nigerian president to establish a middle class, emphasising that the formerp resident built an economy that produced jobs, which in turn led to the establishment of the middle class.
