A tragic turn of events unfolded at Ashoka University in Rai, Sonipat, as two students lost their lives under mysterious circumstances late Friday night and in the early hours of Saturday.
The first incident involved 20-year-old Dhruvjyoti Sahu, an undergraduate student from Telangana, who was found deceased after an apparent fall from the 10th floor of the university’s hostel building. Preliminary investigations suggest the possibility of suicide, but authorities are awaiting further information to confirm the exact cause.
In a separate incident, the body of 19-year-old Vignesh Gundaram Shankar, an undergraduate student from Bengaluru, was discovered near the university’s main gate around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. Initial reports indicate that he may have suffered a heart failure, but a definitive cause of death will be determined following a post-mortem examination.
Sonipat Rai Vipin Rai stated, “The bodies of both the students have been sent for postmortem. Investigation is underway; the exact cause of death has not been known. Parents have been informed, and police are busy solving the mystery in the university.”
Ashoka University released a statement, saying, “It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of the sad demise of two of our students in tragic, unrelated incidents on 14-02-25.
