Renowned Hollywood filmmaker Tyler Perry is facing serious accusations involving sexual harassment, workplace gender-based violence, and sexual assault.
The claims are outlined in a lawsuit filed by actor Derek Dixon, who alleges that Perry leveraged his position and influence to foster what he described as a “coercive, sexually exploitative dynamic.”
Dixon, who appeared in Perry’s television series Ruthless and The Oval, alleges that promises of career advancement were accompanied by “escalating sexual harassment, assault, and battery.”
He further claims that the abuse occurred while Perry maintained full authority over his employment, pay, and creative roles.
In response, Perry has denied all allegations, and his legal representative, Matthew Boyd, has dismissed the lawsuit as a “shakedown.”
“This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam,” Boyd said in a statement to media.
“But Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”
