Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney has shared his thoughts on how Arsenal can overcome Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final clash in Paris.
Arsenal suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to PSG in the first leg held at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
The decisive goal came from Ousmane Dembele, giving Luis Enrique’s team the edge heading into the return fixture.
The two sides are set to meet again next Wednesday in the French capital.
Rooney, however, believes that Mikel Arteta’s team can turn things around if they head into the match with confidence.
He urged the Gunners to remain composed, manage the game’s tempo, and make their chances count when they face the Ligue 1 champions next week.
“I hope Arsenal go on and win the competition, but they have to go in to the second leg with belief,” Rooney told Amazon Prime Video Sport.
“They have to be patient, slow the game down, take the ball at the right times and be clinical.”
Before their European clash, Arsenal will return their focus to domestic duties this weekend as they welcome Bournemouth to the Emirates Stadium.
The North London side currently holds second place in the Premier League standings, trailing behind reigning champions Liverpool.
