British-Nigerian philanthropist Dr. Chukwudi Nwigwe has paid the registration fees for 50 indigent students from Ezzagu Zone in Ebonyi State to sit for the 2025 NECO Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations. This generous act has brought immense joy to the beneficiaries from humble backgrounds.

The students, drawn from various schools including Community Secondary Schools in Azuinyaba, Onunweke, and Ezzagu, benefited from Dr. Nwigwe’s payment of over N1.5 million to offset their registration fees. Beneficiary Nneoma Eze expressed gratitude, saying, “We are eternally grateful to Dr. Nwigwe for believing in us and investing in our future. His kindness has lifted a huge burden off our shoulders, and we promise to make him proud by excelling in our exams.”
Dr. Nwigwe’s philanthropy extends beyond this gesture. He has announced plans to sponsor another 50 indigent students from the same zone for the 2026 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations. Amarachi Nwosu, a student, said, “We are thrilled by this announcement. It gives us hope and motivation to work harder, knowing that there are people like him who believe in us and are willing to support us.
The community has praised Dr. Nwigwe’s selflessness. Chijioke Onu, a teacher, said, “Dr. Nwigwe’s contributions have been a game-changer for our community. His support has enabled us to retain students who would have otherwise dropped out due to financial constraints.” Community leader Chief Emmanuel Nwosu added, “Dr. Nwigwe’s selflessness is an inspiration to us all. We are grateful for his commitment to our community’s development.”
