“We have developed a whole bunch of new technologies. We’ve got seven patents on the go, and we’re not even two years old yet. But what that means is that we’re bringing the best technologies, the best learning materials, the best facilities to support our students,” Adams said. He added that this approach would not only make the University’s products highly impactful but also reposition Nigeria in technological development.
The University is engaging in cutting-edge research in various fields, including space technology, sickle cell, and satellite technology. Adams noted that technology on its own is just a paperweight, but it’s how it’s used that matters. “We want Nigeria to be at the forefront of technology development and application development using those technologies,” he said.
The Pro-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ibrahim Katampe, highlighted the institution’s rapid growth since commencing academic activities in 2024 with 58 students. He announced plans to expand operations, including moving some courses to the Jahi property and developing the permanent site at Idu.
Katampe also mentioned strategic partnerships with institutions like the University of Portsmouth and National Hospital, Abuja, to ensure students receive the best training. He revealed that the university had recently secured funding from major international organisations, including the European Space Agency.

The Registrar of the University, Dr Mani, emphasised the institution’s commitment to equipping graduates with relevant skills. “The university aims to equip our graduates with the necessary skills that will prepare them for the 21st-century job environment,” he said.
The Chancellor of the University, Alhaji Nu’uman Barau Danbatta, expressed delight at the institution’s progress, while the Guest of Honour, Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Zaphaniah Jisalo, commended the University for becoming a beacon of academic excellence
