Following reports that Michelle Obama was preparing to replace Joe Biden as the Democratic Party nominee for the 2024 presidential election, the former First Lady of the United States, US, has made her position known.
The possibility that the President could be replaced as worries about Biden’s age have fueled the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.
Democrats in the US are reportedly concerned that the public may not want an 86-year-old President at this particular time.
According to reports, they were considering Mrs. Obama, the former President’s wife, to succeed him.
However, according to NBC, the former first lady’s staff said, “She will not be running for president.”
“Mrs Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ reelection campaign,” said Obama’s communications director, Crystal Carson.
For his part, Biden has dismissed rumours that he won’t be able to finish the race.
Because he has “more experience than anybody that’s ever run for the office,” he believes that his age benefits his candidature, so he told MSNBC in May.
