Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, has shared the guest list for President Donald Trump’s address at the joint session of Congress on Tuesday night.
According to Johnson, one of the main topics of discussion in Trump’s speech will be border security.
As reported by Fox News, Johnson’s preliminary list of guests for the prime-time event includes Tom Homan, the former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, whom Trump has appointed as his border czar.
Additionally, Johnson invited Olivia Hayes, a young widow from his district in Kinder, Louisiana. Olivia’s husband, Wesley Hayes, tragically lost his life in a car accident caused by an illegal immigrant who was driving under the influence, as noted by Johnson’s office.
The speaker’s office also confirmed that Ben Dell, the chairman of Commonwealth LNG, a priority project for Republicans, will attend as one of Johnson’s guests on Tuesday night. The Commonwealth LNG project was the first significant recipient of the Trump administration’s decision to overturn former President Joe Biden’s pause on new liquefied natural gas (LNG) export permits.
This development follows growing concerns among Republicans about energy price cuts.
In line with this, Energy Secretary Chris Wright recently announced that the permit for the Commonwealth LNG project had been granted.
President Trump had teased that his address on Monday would be a significant one.
