The management of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, has issued a travel advisory to its female students and staff, warning them to avoid certain designated routes in Ijebuland during the annual Agemo Festival.

The university identified the traditional routes to be avoided as Epe/Ijebu-Ode, Isiwo/Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu Imusin/Ijebu-Ode, Ago-Iwoye/Oru/Ijebu-Ode, Ago-Iwoye/Pepsi Junction/Imodi-Imosan, Okun-Owa/Agoro/Imodi-Imosan, and Odogbolu/Ijebu-Ode

According to the advisory, “women are strictly advised to restrict their movements along the designated routes from 1.00 p.m. during the festival, as the female folks are forbidden from sighting the Agemo masquerades.”

The university urged its female members to comply with the directive, citing the customs and traditions of Ijebu. The advisory aims to ensure the safety and well-being of female students and staff during the festival.
