The University of New Haven (UNH) has received a $1 million commitment from board member Stephen Tagliatela and his siblings, Louis and Patricia, to support scholarships for local students in the Tagliatela College of Engineering.

The Tagliatela Family High-Impact Scholarship for Engineering Students will target high-achieving, high-need students from New Haven County, with a focus on first-generation college students and addressing gender disparities in the profession.

UNH President Jens Frederiksen expressed gratitude, stating, “This gift represents more than financial support—it represents belief in the potential of our students and in the future we are building together.” He added, “Together, we can remove barriers, open doors, and define what’s possible for the next generation of engineers.
