VeryDarkMan breaks silence after court ordered his arrest for alleged defamation

Controversial social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has responded after a Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, issued a bench warrant for his arrest on charges of “criminal defamation” against gospel artist Mercy Chinwo.

The bench warrant was issued by Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna on Thursday, March 13, 2025, after VeryDarkMan failed to appear in court following a summons on March 5, 2025.

In response to the bench warrant, VeryDarkMan, who is currently abroad, took to Instagram Stories, daring security agencies to arrest him upon his return to Nigeria. He boasted about being familiar with arrests.

In Pidgin, he wrote,“I dey come Naija very soon make una ready to arrest me for airport. Arrest no be new thing for the Ratel na.”
