On Wednesday, March 20, Nasir El-Rufai, the former minister of the federal capital territory and governor of Kaduna state, paid a courtesy visit to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) national secretariat.
This was the second visit that the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain has recently made.
An internal source told ZINGTIE that the former governor visited the SDP national secretariat to confer with Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, the leader of the opposition party.
El-Rufa’i, according to reports, is a close friend with a distinguished political background, and the SDP national chairman indicated that the country needs a transformational leader of his calibre.
Gabam hailed the former Kaduna governor and his entourage for their hospitality. He urged Nigerians to set aside differences in politics, religion, region, and ethnicity to advance the nation.
He claimed that this was necessary in light of the nation’s many difficulties, including insecurity, inflation, hunger, joblessness, and kidnapping.
According to a video AIT posted on Thursday morning, the governor had gone to the opposition secretariat because there were rumours that he would leave the ruling APC and join another party.
When the photographer was being told not to post the image on Twitter (now X) during the video’s photo segment, El-Rufai was heard to respond, “Let them upload it; I don’t care.”
