VIDEO: Kidnapped Abuja music band regains freedom

After being held captive for days, a juju band from Abuja that was abducted along the Lokoja motorway has been released.

Zingtie recollects that singer Adeyinka Adeboye claimed on social media on Monday that the band leader and his crew were kidnapped while they were leaving a performance in Kogi State.

Adeboye revealed that the abductors sought a ransom of N10 million from each victim.

He shared the victims’ photos and said, “This is so scary.” God have mercy. @omobadejumbobeats and his band members were abducted yesterday while travelling from Abuja to Kogi for a show. We really need assistance because the abductors want a N10 million ransom for each member.

Famous Christian singer Adegbodu Taiwo revealed a video of the band being led out of a white bus on Thursday, marking a recent development.

He wrote: “To God alone be the glory, Omoba de Jumbo beats and his crew are back to Abuja safely. No more sorrow, IJN @omobadejumbobeats.”

The sum of money used to obtain their release was kept a secret.
