A Nigerian woman sobs as she claims that her brother, a Nigerian soldier, was supposedly given a death by hanging sentence for asking for better ammunition.
The distraught woman shared a lengthy story of her brother’s death on social media.
When her brother told his mother in 2014–15 that he and his crew had been captured and given a hanging death sentence, she disclosed that her brother had served as a soldier in Sambisa years prior.
But after serving time in an underground jail, her brother was freed two years later. Later, the brother told her that Temple, a close friend of his who was also convicted and a member of their squad, perished in a bombing.
Every now and then, she noticed her brother crying, and when she asked him what was wrong, he would respond that he remembered something that had happened in Sambisa.
She pointed out that following his release, they continued to move him between states until returning him to Maiduguri.
He was allegedly dismissed after a year.
The woman disclosed that in 2022, they received a call from the police informing them that her brother had been in an accident.
She said that her brother’s sole injury was a broken leg and that there were no other markings on his body when they arrived and discovered their brother already embalmed.
The distraught woman said that her brother was the only person or casualty in the mortuary.
