A Nigerian woman who recently gave birth overseas was shocked to learn that her mother-in-law and father-in-law, who were both invited to the omugwo, were covertly having an affair.
User @ChuksEricE made the revelation public on social media site X (previously Twitter) by sharing a video of a woman explaining the strange circumstance.
The narrator claims that because her mother is late, the woman asked her father to travel outside to assist with omugwo, the customary Igbo postnatal care.
In order to help them during this time, her husband also made arrangements for his own mother to travel.
At first, everything seemed to be going well.
However, things took a surprising turn after two months of the omugwo.
According to reports, the woman learned that her father had begun a close relationship with her mother-in-law.
The post read in part “Her father came to do omugwo because her mother is late, and the husband arranged a visa for his own mother too. Everything was fine at first. But after two months, they began an affair and kept it a secret.”
Only when the mom chose to watch some video clips at home to see how her baby was doing—and was taken aback by what she saw—did the truth become clear.
