Grand Cape Mount County residents in Liberia are in disbelief after a young pregnant woman described how she slapped a spirit in her dream and discovered a weird, bloody handprint on her stomach.

In an interview with Liberian journalist Donso Sheriff on Thursday, the young woman described the horrific event, saying that three nights prior, she had a nightmare in which an unidentified woman tried to abduct her unborn child.

She woke up to a terrifying scene after slapping the weird figure in the dream in a last-ditch effort to defend herself.

“When I opened my eyes, my stomach was burning. When I looked down, there was a red handprint on my belly… and it was bleeding,” she recounted, her voice shaking,” she said.

Her family hurried her to the closest clinic out of concern for her safety.

Many residents came to the conclusion that it was a spiritual attack, even though medical professionals have not yet offered a scientific explanation.
