Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, was welcomed to the state’s Chikun Local Government Area on Wednesday by a group of people thought to be Social Democratic Party (SDP) members.
As El-Rufai drove among them, the fans who were holding SDP flags gathered around him.
“KADUNA UPDATE: Earlier today at Kujama, Chikun Local Government. Alhamdulillah. Overwhelmed by the warmth and acceptance of the ADC!!,” El-Rufai wrote with footage.
El-Rufai recently left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the SDP.
The former governor had charged that the APC lacked internal democracy before his movement.
El-Rufai is a prominent member of the opposition alliance that embraced the African Democratic Congress, or APC, while he was in the SDP.
