A meeting between former vice president Atiku Abubakar, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi, and former Yusuf LP vice presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed is currently taking place in Abuja.
The National Political Consultative Group, North, is gathering opposition leaders at the Continental Hotel in the country’s capital.
The gathering might not be unrelated to current discussions about forming an alliance to overthrow President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
It is currently unknown what platform the coalition would compete on in the 2027 election, despite speculations that Atiku has selected Obi as his running mate.
However, Obi said in a widely shared video that he will run for office as a member of the Labour Party.
