After she and other hostel residents were attacked by more than 20 armed men at around one in the morning, a female student at Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, took to social media to voice her outrage.
She posted a video of the June 4 incident on TikTok, in which she explained how the robbers, armed with cutlasses and firearms, broke into their compound while they were asleep.
The student claims that after breaking past their gate and barbed wire, the intruders forcibly opened her door.
“I want to make a video concerning what they did to us on the 4th of June around 1 a.m. midnight. People came to our compound, they were more than 20,” she said.
“They came with guns and cutlasses. They broke my door. I was sleeping when they entered inside.”
She claimed that even with security barriers in place, the criminals had little trouble getting in.
She recalled how they drained her account, held a gun at her, took her phone, and had her give them her bank PIN and password.
“They robbed everybody in the compound. They were shooting guns, I’ve never experienced such thing in my life. I even wee on my body.” she added.
Declaring that the students no longer felt safe in their dorms, the obviously disturbed student appealed to the school administration for assistance and protection.
