The ninth season of Nigerian Idol, a reality TV singing competition, has crowned Chima Udoye the winner.

Sunday marked his victory following months of competition against some of Nigeria’s top vocalists.

The ten finalists sang a rendition of John Legend’s “Glory” at the grand finale, which was followed by special visits by Progress and Victory Gbakara, two past winners of the reality show.

Prior to the top three finalists, Lammy, Chioma, and Chima, taking the stage for their final performances, the audience was treated to special performances by Chike and Simi.

Chima leaves with N30 million in cash, a recording contract that includes a music video, a brand-new SUV, and a DSTV Explora with a one-year premium subscription.
