US President Donald Trump has once again become the subject of social media discussion after a video of him was circulated. In the video, he can be seen pulling out a chair for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to the White House on Tuesday.
Netizens reacted to the video, with some condemning the move and others calling him a “gentleman”.
One person shared the video with the statement, “You are President of the US, not Netanyahu’s slave.” He continued: “Netanyahu humiliated Trump and America today.”
While another person asked, “Who’s the President of the United States?”
Trump and Netanyahu met in the United States on Tuesday and conducted a joint press conference to discuss problems such as the Gaza ceasefire and Iran.
Both presidents discussed the fate of Gaza, with Trump vowing that the US would “take over” and “own” the Gaza Strip, as well as deploy American troops there if necessary.
Trump stated that Palestinians may spend their lives in “peace and harmony” somewhere else, adding, “The US will take over the Gaza Strip and we will do a job with it, too. We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site.”
The US President’s declaration came after a permanent resettlement plan for two million Palestinians residing in Gaza to adjacent countries.
In response to the US president’s announcement, Israel’s Prime Minister stated that the US takeover of Gaza is “worthwhile” to pursue.
“He sees a different future for that piece of land that has been the focus of so much terrorism, so much, so many attacks against us, so many, so many trials and so many tribulations,” Netanyahu said in a press briefing.
The Israeli Prime Minister stated that Trump’s proposal has the potential to “change history”
During his encounter at the White House, the Israeli prime minister reportedly presented US President Donald Trump with both a golden and a standard pager. The present alluded to the catastrophic operation that devastated the Hezbollah terror group.
“That was a great operation,” Trump said, according to Channel 12 news.
Trump handed Netanyahu a portrait of the two of them from the visit as a return gift, with the dedication “To Bibi, a great leader.”
