Vitafoam Nigeria Plc has taken a significant step in supporting educational development by upgrading the laboratory facilities at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). This initiative is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to contribute to the growth and development of Nigeria’s educational sector

The upgraded laboratory will provide students in the Faculty of Science with hands-on experience with modern equipment and technology, enhancing their learning experience. The laboratory serves five departments in the faculty, including Botany, Self Biology & Genetics, Marine Science, Microbiology, and Sociology.

“We found Unilag a worthy partner and then we found this particular laboratory that provides access to five departments of the faculty. By refurbishing this lab, we are covering a larger percentage of students,” said Taiwo Adeniyi, Group Managing Director of Vitafoam Nigeria Plc.

The Vice Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, expressed gratitude to Vitafoam Nigeria for their consistent support to the University. “The company has always been there, improving our infrastructure, donating requirements and we cannot thank them enough,” she said, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics & Research) Prof. Bola Oboh-Oboh.

Education: The Importance of Vocational Training for Students

The Dean of the Faculty of Physical and Earth Sciences, UNILAG, Prof. Olayinka Taiwo-Asekun, also commended Vitafoam for transforming the lab into a world-class facility.

By supporting education, Vitafoam Nigeria is making a positive impact on the lives of students and the community. “The federal government cannot do it alone… nothing is too little to support the University community,” Prof. Oboh-Oboh noted, calling on other corporate bodies to follow Vitafoam’s lead.
