A new armored personnel carrier (APC) has been delivered to the Anambra State Police Command in order to combat state criminals.
The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, instructed Force Headquarters to transfer the armored vehicle to the Command.
The heavy-duty military gear was given to CP Ikioye Orutugu, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, who expressed gratitude for the donation and said it would aid the Command in combating the state’s criminals.
According to a statement released by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the State Police Command, the CP expressed his sincere gratitude to the Nigeria Police Force leadership for the equipment delivery.
The CP said: “This critical asset will significantly enhance the command’s operational capacity, especially in tackling emerging security challenges and strengthening the ongoing efforts toward maintaining peace, law, and order across the State.
“The Anambra State Police Command reassures Ndi Anambra of its renewed commitment to the protection of lives and property, and calls for continued cooperation from residents to ensure a safer Anambra for all.”
The CP also expressed gratitude to the Command for the ongoing assistance provided by Inspector-General of Police IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
He characterized him as an IGP whose aggressive leadership is still evident in the better welfare, morale, and logistics of officers across the country.
