Eight months after they were married in Edo State, a man named Kelvin Osamede Izekor murdered his wife, Ugiagbe Osaiyekemwen Success Izekor, 38.
The event occurred on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at No. 50 Upper Mission extension in Benin City.
It was learned that following a furious altercation, the suspect used a hammer to smash Success to death.
According to a wedding invitation seen by LIB, the couple was married in Benin City on Saturday, June 29, 2024.
A user on X expressed shock at the unfortunate event by sharing the couple’s wedding video.
The spouse was on the verge of being killed by a crowd when the police arrived, appeased them, and took the suspect into custody, according to Moses Yamu, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, who verified the incident in a statement on Sunday.
Unverified sources state that the deceased was four months pregnant when she was killed.
The dead had been beaten by Kelvin before they were married, according to the neighbors, but the abuse increased after they were married.
At one point, they said, the suspect used a cutlass to attack Success.

A Rivers State High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt has dismissed a motion on notice seeking leave to appeal as an interested party in the suit filed by William Fialasoika and 24 others against the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the party’s congresses in the state.
