To prevent any escalation of hostilities with Iran, the United States declared on Monday that it will continue to support Israel.

It would not be necessary for Israel to defend itself against Iran’s persecution, according to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

He revealed this to Mohammed Ali Tamim, the deputy prime minister of Iraq, at the beginning of their meeting.

Blinken, who called Iran’s actions unprecedented, said: “We don’t seek escalation, but we’ll continue to support the defence of Israel and to protect our personnel in the region.

“What this weekend demonstrated is that Israel did not have to and does not have to defend itself alone when it is the victim of aggression, the victim of an attack.”

In retaliation for the attack on Iran’s embassy in Syria on April 1 that killed some of its generals, Iran fired a barrage of over 300 drones and missiles at Israel over the weekend.

However, most of the missiles and drones were intercepted with assistance from the US, France, and other allies.
