US President Donald Trump has warned that thousands of lives are in danger and denounced the Nigerian government for what he claims are persistent attacks on Christian communities.

Trump voiced alarm over ongoing violence against Christians nationwide in an article published in the Nigerian Tribune on Saturday, 22 November 2025. Despite foreign backing, he said, the government’s response has been insufficient, allowing armed groups to operate freely.

Trump claimed that until he personally brought up the matter two weeks ago, the disaster had received little attention on a global scale.

“The government has done nothing. They are very ineffective. They are killing Christians at will. And you know, until I got involved in it two weeks ago, nobody even talked about it,” he stated.

He encouraged Nigerian authorities to act quickly to protect vulnerable populations, emphasizing that the attacks pose wider hazards to humanitarian relief and regional stability. In order to stop more deaths and restore security for impacted areas, Trump demanded greater accountability and intervention.
