After a fight with a herder in Borno State’s Gubio Local Government Area, a teenage farmer was slain.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama was informed by sources that the event happened in Jatori village at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
The deceased, named as 18-year-old Isaye Kundili, had a millet and bean farm, which the herder reportedly led his cattle into.
The herder allegedly shot Kundili in the chest with a bow and arrow before running away after an altercation broke out as Kundili tried to push the herd away.
While being treated at the Primary Health Care Center in Gubio, the victim was pronounced dead. Later, in accordance with Islamic customs, his remains were given to family members for burial.
Police acknowledged the event and stated that they were working with the herders’ union to find the fugitive culprit.
