The most challenging job Uzor Arukwe has ever done, according to the well-known Nollywood actor, is that of his character in “A Tribe Called Judah,” Nigeria’s biggest-grossing movie at the box office.
The character of Arukwe, who plays the Igbo businessman and money launderer Chidoke in the movie, was complex since he had to deliberately speak in the dialect and pronounce “Rs” and “Ls” like an Igbo guy.
He revealed this during a recent fan interaction on the X platform.
“[What’s] The most challenging role you have ever played?” inquired a curious fan.
Arukwe replied, “A Tribe Called Judah because I had to consciously replace the L word with the R word, to make it feel natural & believable.”
Funke Akindele, the movie producer who broke box office records, praised him for his exceptional performance in the film, quoting from his tweet.
“And you nailed it. Well done bro. Thank you too,” she wrote.
