Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Deputy National Chairman Chief Bode George has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to be patient and put the good of the country before his own interests. George underlined that leadership had to be in line with the nation’s larger corporate interests, citing Atiku’s multiple presidential runs.
He advised Atiku to wait for the appropriate moment, implying that nobody could stop it when it was really his turn. Drawing on his religion and introspection, George pointed out that the nation’s peace and advancement depend on accepting periods when divine timing does not coincide with personal plans.
During Symfoni’s live coverage, he stated, “I have three beautiful children who are products of Southeast. I beg you. You can’t win all the time. But if it is in the corporate interest of this great nation, please—when the time comes for you, nobody can stop you.”
“The Almighty God has decided that it is your turn. Wait for that your turn. Sometimes you ask God, and He says, No, it’s not your time. Why are you angry? By the time it will be your turn, you won’t even—you know—you won’t have any problems. It shall be well with our country.”
