Her name has gone viral on social media, igniting discussions, rumors, and interest. Roselande Belony’s identity has become as contentious as the now-famous leaked videos that have been connected to her, from the pulpit to Telegram communities.

Others assert that she is from Kenya or Tanzania, while others maintain that she is the daughter of a senior Ivorian preacher. The woman at the center of this online controversy, however, is none of these things, despite these widely circulated assertions.

In reality, Roselande Belony is a musician, media personality, and former radio anchor from Haiti who is well-known for her educational programming on Radio Télé Pacific. Roselande, a woman with a strong stage presence and a musical background, is also involved in her local church, frequently leading worship and occasionally giving sermons.

She is not, however, a pastor’s daughter, despite what has been misrepresented on social media.

Her father, Serge Belony, came forward to correct the record after the scandal. He rejected the widely circulated story that portrayed his daughter as a pastor’s child in an exclusive interview with Blocus on Storm TV. “I am not a pastor. I’m a driver and mechanic, and I haven’t stepped inside a church in over ten years,” he said.

Another story that Roselande had denied intimacy to a betrayed fiancé who subsequently published the videos in retaliation was also refuted by him. The man in the films was Roselande’s official boyfriend, according to Serge Belony. He claimed that although family members and the church were aware of their relationship, it stopped roughly eight months ago as a result of church pressure over the young man’s looks and way of life.

“The church didn’t approve of his braided hair, pierced ears, and what they considered a non-conformist lifestyle, they asked her to end the relationship, and she did.” Belony explained.

The startling discovery, however, was that the videos were shared by an unidentified robber of Roselande rather than the ex-boyfriend. Her father claims that she was assaulted at gunpoint by a phony motorbike taxi driver on her way back from a hospital visit. Perhaps following a failed ransom attempt, the thief took her phone, turned off its security features, and then posted the recordings online.

The consequences were immediate and terrible. Roselande was forced to leave Radio Télé Pacific as a result of the films, which were extensively disseminated on social media sites like Twitter and Telegram. Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda have all seen strong reactions to the scandal.

There is still a huge division in public opinion. Some have expressed sympathy and support for her, while others have criticized her behavior.

As one user put it, “The story makes me confused and angry. This is a terrible invasion of privacy.” Another commented, “She may have made a mistake, but what’s happening now is cyberbullying.”

Roselande has made the decision to weather the storm with dignity in spite of the mayhem. She has been thanking everyone who have supported her and posting encouraging messages on her social media platforms.

She still has to deal with the agonizing fact that her private moments have been aired globally. Additionally, even after she moves on, the internet never forgets the narrative, the styles, or the groans.
