Grammy-winning Nigerian musician Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, has been open about his religious issues and said that even after switching from Christianity to Islam in an attempt to become enlightened, he is still unfulfilled.

Burna Boy revealed in a recent interview with streamer Playboymax that his confusion increases as he reads more holy texts in search of meaning.

“Growing up, I was a Christian and then I converted to Islam. It’s like I’ve studied it all, but I’m still out here trying to find out what is really going on, you know? The more I research, the more confused I get,” he said.

Burna Boy went on to say that he is still seeking inner truth and engaging in spiritual exploration.

ZINGTIE remembers that a few months ago, 9ice, another Nigerian artist, also shared details about his spiritual journey. He disclosed that he had a “spiritual attack” that left him bedridden for six months, at which point he joined to the Ifa faith.

9ice said he wished he had been following Ifa religion sooner in the widely shared conversation with Nancy Isime.
