For the first time since he agreed to a contract extension with the Premier League team, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken.

Guardiola has already agreed to new terms with the champions, after his previous contract was scheduled to expire in the summer of June 2025.

With a one-year extension option, the new contract expires in 2026.

He now has “a special feeling” for City, the Spaniard has acknowledged.

“I have a really special feeling for Man City. That is why I am so happy to be staying for another two more seasons,” Guardiola said.

“Thank you to everyone for continuing to trust and support me.

“Hopefully now we can add more trophies to the ones we have already won.”

Six Premier League championships and one UEFA Champions League are among Guardiola’s 18 major trophy victories to date.
