In order to celebrate their birthdays, former President Obasanjo paid visits to former President Ibrahim Babangida and Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin, at Benin, Edo State, and Minna, Niger State, respectively.

The former military president turned 83 years old last month, but The Esama of Benin turned 90 on Sunday.

The former president’s first stop was Benin, where he joined family, friends, and well-wishers at a Thanksgiving service celebration hosted by the Catholic Archbishop of Benin Diocese, according to a statement released on Sunday by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi.

During his private conversation with the Esama, President Obasanjo congratulated him and told him that, based on the size of the throng that turned out to celebrate, his legacy in history is assured.

Following the festivities in Benin, the outgoing president travelled to Minna, Niger State, to pay a visit to President Ibrahim Babangida, who turned 83 on August 27.

President Obasanjo praised President Babangida’s health and acknowledged his accomplishments.

Obasanjo stated in his speech that he was out of the nation when he was unable to accomplish this sooner. He prayed for the President’s continuing well-being.
