The Labour Party’s national chairman, Julius Abure, has been suspended due to purported anti-party conduct.
The LP in Ward 3 of Arue-Uromi, in the Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, suspended him.
The state executive committee in Benin approved the letter announcing his suspension dated May 14, 2024, on Friday night.
Stanley Usiomoh, the ward secretary, and Thompson Ehiguese, the ward chairman, signed the suspension letter.
It counselled the embattled national chairman to give up or cease presenting himself as a party member.
With Kelly Ogbaloi leading the State Executive Committee, the suspension was approved and is effective immediately.
Part of the letter reads, “While the suspension is with immediate effect, you are advised to refrain from holding out or parading yourself as a member of Labour Party, Ward 3, Arue, Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State”.
