Wike: Bode George reveals PDP next line of action

Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stated that the party is striving to bring its members together, including Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

George stated that PDP does not wish to begin firing members since doing so will bring all of the resentful parties together.

Wike had a falling out with the PDP leadership in the midst of the 2023 presidential election.

The minister and his G-5 group made the decision to work for other candidates rather than Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate.

Wike’s actions caused a significant rift in the party, as his insistence on a Southern candidate resulted in the dismissal of Iyorchia Ayu, the previous National Chairman.

George clarified that the party is making efforts to reconcile the division resulting from the previous general election.

He addressed the PDP National Executive Council (NEC) meeting that Wike attended while still working in the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

George stated during his appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television: “There is a standing committee. They are going to add more members to do a post-mortem analysis.

“We don’t want to start firing because there are one or two people that are still thinking about the past. The party must move on.

“It is an issue in the party. It should not be resolved in the marketplace,” the PDP chieftain said, insisting “We are going to settle our own matters like a family.”
