At the helm of this movement is 16-year-old Emmanuel Folorunsho, who sacrificed his midnight snack allowance to fund this cause. “This project is not only about money—it’s about restoring hope and helping women rebuild their lives through sustainable business,” Folorunsho said.
The program, designed to offer financial assistance, economic independence, mentorship, and educational support, aims to empower widows and their children. Executive Director and Matron, Mrs. Veronica Folorunsho, emphasized the importance of rewriting the narrative for widows. “The loss of a husband is not just emotional—it’s often a loss of financial security and identity. Through this, we are rewriting that narrative,” she said.
The grants have enabled the women to start or expand their small-scale businesses, empowering them to become self-sufficient entrepreneurs. “This is not just charity, it’s an investment. We want these women to grow businesses, reclaim their confidence and uplift their families,” Mrs. Folorunsho stressed. Benefiting widows have begun to experience significant changes in their lives, thanks to this initiative
