New details have emerged regarding the passing of wrestling icon Terry Gene Bollea, widely known as Hulk Hogan.
Earlier reports confirmed that Hogan died on Thursday at the age of 71.
According to Wrestling Observer, in a report published Saturday, the legendary wrestler’s health took a significant downturn following a neck operation performed on May 14.
The outlet also reported that, prior to his passing on July 24, Hogan had been battling kidney failure along with advanced chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
In remembrance of his legacy, WWE held a tribute show on Friday night to celebrate his contributions to the sport.
The organization is also said to be assembling a major lineup of wrestling greats and Hall of Famers to honor their late colleague and friend.
