Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, a Yoruba Nation activist, has come home.
Yoruba Nation activist Olayomi Koiki stated he was in the country for his mother’s funeral. Koiki is the spokesman for Igboho.
On Thursday, Koiki revealed this on his X page with a brief statement and a video.
Igboho was seen in the video with a few individuals reportedly present at the mortuary.
He wrote: “I can confirm that Chief Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, is currently on his way to Igboho Town for the final burial of his mother, MRS S.A.ADEYEMO.
“The body of MRS S.A ADEYEMO was picked up from the mortuary in SAKI TOWN some few hours ago.”
Igboho fled Nigeria in 2021 after the Department of State Services, DSS, issued a wanted poster and fled to the Benin Republic.
Due to suspected terrorist allegations, DSS had broken into his home in the Soka area in Oyo State.
Due to his support of the Yoruba Nation and his attacks on Fulani herders who were suspected of attacking farms in the Southwest, the secret police had labelled him wanted.
Igboho was detained and arrested in the Benin Republic while trying to enter Germany.
After spending two years in a Beniese jail, he has returned to freedom.
Igboho, who was imprisoned in the Benin Republic, lost his mother, Saki, Oyo State.
