The mother of Anu, a 12-year-old girl at the heart of a continuing paternity dispute with Afrobeats artist Davido, has leveled accusations against the Adeleke family for intimidation, manipulation, and misuse of authority. She also categorically rejected allegations that further DNA tests took place in 2020.

Late on Wednesday, she issued a statement with strong wording in which she claimed that her sister, Titilayo Labinjoh, had been communicating with Dr. Adedeji Adeleke since the COVID-19 pandemic began—news that she stated shocked her family.

“To my shock, my own sister Titi Labinjoh reportedly has been talking to Dr. Deji Adeleke since the pandemic. About what?” She asked.

As she stated, Titilayo has recently placed a call to their mother from Abuja, voicing concern about the resurgence of media scrutiny regarding Anu and grievances from her coworkers.

“Our mom told her to ignore it. “What about Anu who has to endure everything?” she asked, expressing her devastation over allegations that her sister might have taken money from the Adeleke family.

She referenced Matthew 10:36 to characterize the situation as a betrayal by those in her own household and refuted claims that she worked with controversial blogger Kemi Olunloyo to promote the narrative.

She elucidated her connection with Olunloyo, saying: “Dr. Kemi opened this page and took photos online, some she took with Anu and some I posted myself. She handed the page to us in 2019. I’m not a social media user and didn’t post for four years.”

She clarified that she started posting again in 2023 during Anu’s 10th birthday photoshoot, emphasizing that she does not live in Ibadan anymore and that Anu is currently living with her grandmother.

“I’m a trader by profession. I buy my goods from border countries. There was no time Titi told Dr. Kemi to stop posting about Anu. They don’t have each other’s contact and do not talk.”

She mentioned that her mother, Mrs. Ropo Labinjoh, posts some of Anu’s videos independently and that the family has not been in touch with Olunloyo despite her ongoing comments.

She noted that Olunloyo had publicly backed the family during a 2018 appeal and organized a press conference for them, recalling earlier events.

She communicated directly to Dr. Adeleke: “Sir, as the patriarch of the family, you should not be talking on David’s behalf. I’m not Sophia negotiating child support. Let David address me.”

She charged the Adeleke family with leveraging their wealth and influence improperly, asserting that a relative was employed to keep tabs on them.

“Your power and money are being abused here. David is obviously a boy and not a man.”

She further warned: “If anything happens to me, my daughter, or my mom, the police should hold you responsible.”

In response to contradictory statements regarding DNA testing, she resolutely refuted Dr. Adeleke’s assertions that further tests were performed years after the original testing.

“Anu and I never met with you in 2020 for four additional DNA tests,” she stated.

She also rejected any implication of a link between Anu and Davido’s cousin, B-Red.

She claimed that doubts regarding B-Red stemmed from inquiries made by Kemi Olunloyo in a thorough interview, segments of which are currently online.

“She suspected I may have also slept with him. That interview is now floating around. Post the tests, sir,” she concluded.

Less than a day later, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, the father of Afrobeats artist Davido, publicly addressed the controversy, explaining how the Adeleke family organized several DNA tests to establish if 12-year-old Anuoluwapo is biologically linked to the singer. This development occurred within 24 hours of his statement.

During the interview, Dr. Adeleke detailed how the family initially learned about the child, describing the arrival of documents, photos, and messages that purportedly connected Davido to Anu’s mother. This revelation led the family to seek what he characterized as comprehensive DNA testing to clarify the situation.
