An open letter was issued by former Education Minister Obiageli Ezekwesili to Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the senator for the Kogi Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate.
On Monday, April 14, Ezekwesili sent a letter on her personal X account, calling Akpoti-Uduaghan a trooper whose bravery and tenacity have contributed to the strengthening of Nigeria’s democracy.
In addition to Nigerians and her constituents, she claimed that Akpoti-Uduaghan’s commitment inspires millions of people worldwide.
Akpoti-Uduaghan has the right to a fair hearing in the Red Chambers, the former minister added, adding that the female senator suspended by the Senate leadership had no excuse for being outside her office.
A Letter to Dear Senator @NatashaAkpoti!
Not only your trusted and loyal Kogi Central Constituency stands with you for your stoicism and courageous service that deepen our Democracy and nation-building.
We do!
There are millions of reasonable Nigerians and other people around the world who are inspired by your strength of conviction and are continuing to stand with you until Justice is served.
You have a right to@NGRSenate Fair Hearing through an Independent Panel on your allegation against @Senator_Akpabio.
You have no reason to be outside your office as a legitimately elected Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Your unjust suspension must be immediately terminated by the Nigerian Senate so you resume duties to your people and the nation.
Therefore always remember that:
You. Can. Never. Walk. Alone.
The injustice being done to you will surely not be sustained, Madam Senator.
You are a trooper!
