The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has been urged by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to refrain from using personal attacks as a diversion from the shortcomings of the Tinubu administration.
The ADC further stated that the APC has to understand that it has an obligation to answer to the Nigerian people.
The ADC said that the ruling party has persisted in acting like an opposition party in a statement issued by its national publicity secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.
Nigerians continue to experience a high degree of insecurity, economic collapse, and national divisiveness, and the ADC urged the APC to do a good job of explaining this to them.
The national ruling party was accused by the ADC of launching a petty attack on it and its leaders, especially Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State.
The national coalition movement claims that “the APC has chosen distraction over substance, insults over introspection, and propaganda over performance.
‘’But we must remind them that while words can be manipulated, the facts on ground cannot.’’
According to Abdullahi, Nigerians are currently seeking solutions to issues of unemployment, hunger, insecurity, and hopelessness.
It questioned why the ruling chose to criticize individuals who raised difficult issues while ignoring all of this.
“It is unfortunate that a party that held the presidency, controlled both chambers of the National Assembly, and commanded the vast resources of the Nigerian state still behaved as if it was in opposition,” the statement added.
