President Bola Tinubu has referred to his longtime associate and friend, Tanko Yakasai, as a moral compass for the nation.
Tinubu described Yakasai as a statesman and a prominent figure in a national cause.
He made this known on Friday in Kano State during a condolence visit to the family of the late businessman, Aminu Dantata.
Dantata passed away in June in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and was laid to rest in the sacred city of Madinah.
He was recognized across the North as a respected figure and an influential industrialist.
Speaking during the visit, Tinubu said: “Our father and friend, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, thank you, sir. You are an elder, leader of a national movement, and the conscience of our country.”
In addition, Tinubu praised Dantata as a compassionate giver known for distributing food to those in need at marketplaces.
