Nollywood actor and self-acclaimed cleric, Yul Edochie, has branded himself a “hardcore traditionalist.”
Many people are surprised by this discovery because last year the controversial actor launched The Salvation Ministry, an online church.
Edochie strongly implied that he had converted to the traditional religion when he said in a recent Instagram post that he would never give up the faith of his ancestors.
He asserted that Africans are abandoning their traditional religions out of fear of public opinion.
He wrote: “Because of fear of what people will say, Africans are running away from their powerful religion, their originality. Abomination!
“I will never abandon the ways of my forefathers. It is built on truth, transparency, and fairness. I’m a hardcore traditionalist.”
Yul Edochie had also asserted in December that many Nigerian pastors were originally meant to be local doctors but had given up on their vocation since the film industry and Westerners viewed native doctors as “evil.”
