Prior to the by-election set for August 16, 2025, the All Progressives Congress,APC, in Zamfara State has chosen Hon. Kamilu Sa’idu as their candidate for the Kaura Namoda North State Constituency.
Three other candidates, Hon. Bashir Muhammad Madaro (Walin Kurya), Hon. Anas S/Fada, and Alhaji Ashiru Hamisu Habibu, withdrew from the party primary at Kasuwar Daji Primary School on Sunday, leaving Sa’idu without an opponent.
Sa’idu’s candidacy was unanimously approved by thirty delegates from the six wards of Kagara, Dan-Isa, Sakajiki, Kurya, Kyambarawa, and Banga.
The resigned candidates promised to do it their all to help the party win the by-election.
Kamilu Sa’idu was declared the duly elected candidate by Barr. Babande B. Imam, the chairman of the APC primary election committee from the party’s national secretariat. He noted that the procedure complied with the APC constitution and that INEC officials, led by Dr. Muhammad Isah, witnessed the results.
“Kamilu, having fulfilled all the party’s constitutional requirements and affirmed by the delegates of the six wards of the State Assembly Constituency, is hereby declared the APC candidate for the forthcoming by-election,” Imam said, adding that the process was free of any irregularities.
The state APC chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani; his secretary, Hon. Ibrahim Umar Dangaladima; deputy chairman, Alh. Hassan Marafa Damri; former chairman, Hon. Lawal M. Liman, and his secretary, Hon. Sani Musa T/Mafara; publicity secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau; welfare secretary, Bashir Idris Ataka; state youth leader, Musa Idris Ardo; and assistant publicity secretary, Junaidu Attahiru Dosara, were among the important party participants at the primary.
