Zenith Bank Plc has rolled out the drums to celebrate the victorious D’Tigress of Nigeria, rewarding them with N200m for securing a record-breaking fifth consecutive AfroBasket title. The team was honoured at a reception held at the bank’s Abuja head office in Maitama.

Each of the players will receive ₦10m, which will be paid into their Zenith Bank accounts, while the technical crew and others will share the remaining amount. This generous gesture is a testament to the bank’s commitment to supporting women’s basketball in Nigeria.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank, Dame Adaora Umeoji OON, expressed her appreciation to the D’Tigress for making the country proud. “Your victory at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket is not just a win for Nigeria; it is a win for African sports,” she said.

The captain of the team and the Most Valuable Player of the AfroBasket, Amy Okonkwo, responded to the kind gesture, appreciating the financial institution for their support. “Thank you for doing a lot for women’s basketball in the country,” she said.
