A total of ten nations have now secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
On Thursday, Jordan and Uzbekistan made history by booking their places in the tournament for the first time, while South Korea extended their streak by qualifying for an 11th consecutive time.
Uzbekistan earned their spot despite a 0-0 draw against the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi. The result ensured they finished second in Group A, behind Iran, guaranteeing automatic progression with a game still remaining.
These three nations Jordan, Uzbekistan, and South Korea join Japan, New Zealand, Iran, and Argentina, who had already confirmed their participation in the upcoming World Cup.
As hosts of the tournament, the United States, Canada, and Mexico have also qualified automatically.
In addition to the six Asian teams that earned direct qualification, the UAE and Qatar, who finished third and fourth respectively, will proceed to the next qualifying round.
That stage will see six teams compete for two additional spots in the 2026 tournament.
