Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, has said that he will shortly leave the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP.
Ahead of the 2027 election, Eno was reportedly considering defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC.
The governor spoke to supporters at the Ukanafun/Oruk Anam federal constituency’s Town Square meeting on Tuesday at the Ukanafun local government area’s headquarters, the QIC Central School in Ikot Akpankuk.
He pointed out that the main opposition party is no longer able to transport him to his next destination.
He said, “If you wanted to travel with Ibom Airline, and on the verge of taking off, it developed a fault that won’t enable it to fly, won’t you board the next available plane to take you to your destination?”
Sheriff Oborewori, the governor of Delta State, is the most recent in a wave of PDP defections, according to ZINGTIE.
The decision was made for the people’s benefit, according to the governor, who joined the ruling party along with many of his followers.
