2027: Edo Commissioner designate hits on Peter Obi over single-term proposal

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the 2023 Labour Party, has come under fire from Edo State Commissioner-designate Kassim Afegbua for proposing to serve only one term if elected in 2027.

According to Afegbua, the plan was not only absurd but also unfeasible.

He emphasized that four years is insufficient to change Nigeria in his remarks on Wednesday during an interview with Channels Television’s “Sunrise Daily.”

“Nobody should tell you he’s coming from the south to spend four years because for me that is just like telling a bogus lie.

“I know that it is not possible. One term is inadequate to turn things around positively in Nigeria,” he claimed.
